Just like in season one, Asagao works as a forensic scientist, and her father, Taira, works as a detective. Whenever Taira has time, he still goes to Tohoku to find his wife's corpse. Meanwhile, Asagao's husband, Kuwahara, is spending his busy days at the Kanagawa Prefectural Police First investigation Division, and her daughter is recently starting to beg Asagao and the others that she wants a baby brother. They thought this daily life at the Maki household would continue, but something prompts Asagao, rather than Taira, to go to Tohoku alone to find her mother's corpse.
Thus, as new tale begins.
